The Library has two departments – the Fund Processing Department, and the Services Department. The manager of the library is PhDr. Ivo Brožek.

The Library offers book lending services (for borrowing or on-site study), document copying and scanning, access to electronic databases (fulltext, bibliography), research service etc. After registration with the Library, student cards and employee cards can be used as library tickets.

The Library is situated on the campus premises, Building K (the building on pillars).

The university is the home of the European Documentation Centre, which provides access to EU publications. The EDC is part of the Europe Direct network, established by the European Commission and working throughout the EU as well as in other countries.

J. E. Purkyne University Research Library was open in the new building on 28 January 2013 for a trial run.
